Discipleship

Love God. Love People.
Make Disciples.

Our mission is to love God, love people, and make disciples. We desire to be a community that prioritizes the Great Commandments (Mt. 22:36-40, love God and people) and the Great Commission (Mt. 28:16-20, make disciples). Therefore, we want to provide as many resources as possible to make disciples who make disciples.

Discipleship Pathway

Every disciple of Jesus is on a journey. At Commission Church, we define this journey as our discipleship pathway and we want to invite you to consider taking your next steps with us as you follow Christ.

Discover God’s Love for You

Discovering God’s love for you is the first step of your discipleship pathway and an ongoing process of continually finding more of God’s love as the Lord saves, heals, delivers, frees, and leads you into everlasting life.

This starts by receiving the Good News of Jesus, declaring your faith in Him personally and publicly, and steadily engaging with God’s Word and God’s Presence through a lifestyle of prayer and worship.

Deepen Your Love for Others

Deepening your love for others is the call of Christ followers. As we have been loved by God, we are invited to extend this love to others through relationships that focus on righteousness, honor, and unity.

This process happens in intentional community and is encouraged to take place through groups and serving others.

Display God’s Love to the World

Displaying God’s love to the world is the supernatural overflow of God’s work in our lives. As we receive His love and extend it to others in our community, we tend to want to show others the beauty and hope found in the love of Christ.

Displaying God’s love to the world is all about utilizing the gifts of the Spirit as we partner locally  and globally to evangelize, make more disciples, and practice radically generosity.

Discipleship Resources

Priorities

Commission Church prioritizes twelve values that uphold our mission and vision. These statements not only define how we desire to accomplish our mission and vision, but we also believe these priorities to be the foundational values for disciples of Christ Jesus.

The following are resource sheets that include a detailed description and action steps for each priority. We'd highly suggest using these for personal study, groups, and one-on-one discipleship.

God’s Word

We believe God's Word is living, active, authoritative, and gives unerring witness to Christ Jesus. The Scriptures lead us to understand, receive, and live in the saving work of Jesus. Therefore, we encourage each disciple of Jesus to daily prioritize, study, practice, and proclaim the Word.

At the same time, the Bible has many passages and books that are hard to understand. Because of this, we want to provide the following resources for you to help support, guide, and empower your study and application of the Scriptures.

Please use and share the following links as you grow in your understanding, practice, and proclamation of God's Word.

Commission Groups

Commission Groups are life groups that follow a small-group curriculum focused on understanding and living out the 12 priorities mentioned above. Whether you're a seasoned disciple or a new believer, these groups are great next steps and resources for your discipleship pathway.

Healing

Disciples of Christ Jesus experience salvation. The gift of salvation is offered to all people and when we receive it through faith in God, we are given the gifts of healing, deliverance, freedom, and new life.

As we experience these gifts, there are many people and groups that we partner with to see every disciple of Jesus walk in the fullness of God's saving work.

We highly encourage each follower of Christ to pursue the following steps.

Equipping

Followers of Jesus are lifelong learners who consistently pursue, receive, and apply equipping from God's Word to aid them in their discipleship journey. Commission Church regularly offers equipping events, classes, and groups for you to participate in and move forward in loving God, loving people, and making disciples.
